Rhode Island Bay Lighthouses

We took a lighthouse tour. These are around the Narragansett Bay. They are in Wickford,North Kingstown, Jamestown, and Newport.


The first was Est. 1831 and discontinued 1882. Second was est. 1899 and discontinued 1941. The third was est. 1826 discontinued 1979 then relighted 2007.

1st picture est 1882 destroyed 1938 by hurricane. 2 nd est. 1749 went automated 1972, 3rd est. 1890 went automated 1972.

1st est 1890 went automated 1957, 2 nd est 1870 deactivated 1971-1992 relight 1993, 3rd est 1886 discontinued 1933.
We sailed through Newport Harbor and saw many mega yachts and sailboats.



We will be leaving Cape Cod tomorrow and going to visit John's cousin in Chemsford, MS.
