RV repair to NIAGARA FALLS CANADIAN SIDE

Drove to Manchester, RI to have the dash Air Conditioner repaired. They had to order a new Compressor. We stayed overnight in a Holiday Express compliments of Good Sam. They did not finish the job until 4:30PM and we didn't get on the road till 5:25PM. We were heading to NH which is a 4 hr trip. I drove until 8:00PM and we got off the toll road to find a place to stay the night. Well we did our first overnight in a Walmart parking lot. Not bad, they have a patrol that stays near you and watches you until 3AM when the next shift comes. We walked to a near by Restaurant had dinner, compliments of Good Sam then went back put our generator on for lights and read a little, turned off the generator and went to sleep. When we woke up there were 3 other RVs around us.

Drove to NH by 10:00 AM and by 12:00 noon we were heading to Saratoga Race Track for the horse racing. We met John's cousin Wally. This is very similar to the England Races. They come out in their hats and are all dolled up. We won some and lost most. The last race we went down to see the horses. We placed our bets and just before closing I told John to bet the long shot 31 to 1 WPS. The long shot was a female jockey, her first time racing in the states , she is a Canadian Jockey, and we won!! She came in second but we still won.. The second picture is a 1935 Daimler. Nice !!

While driving we saw this sign and I turned around and had to take this picture.

We are heading to Niagara Falls. We are taking a tour of the Canadian side at 5:15 to see the falls at night and see the fire works.

The first picture was of the Giant Whirlpool, the second is the air tram over the whirlpool. We went on a Canadian holiday and the traffic was bad.

Went to the Botanical Gardens where the Floral Clock is the center piece.
This clock is planted every May 1 and by October is bear ground. The design is submitted Jan 1 by many Horticulers from Canada in the providence of Ontario. The design is never the same. This master glass blower showed us his talent.

Now on to the falls. The three are named Table Rock, Horseshoe Falls and Bridal Veil Falls.

We went to Journey Behind the Falls. A tunnel was built behind the falls that you can get right up close to the fall. Its wet and loud but thrilling.

Click on the pictures below and see the daredevils and the miracles.

Went up in the Skylon Tower to see the sun set and to see the beauty of the falls with lights.

We went to a Duty Free Store right before the bridge back to US side to see the unique fire works.

What a beautiful time. I finally got to see Niagara Falls. Wednesday we will tour the US side of the falls.

  1. Carol, did you take a ride on the air tram? That looked like it would have been a great view!
And that 7 yr old must have had the ride of his life over the falls, huh? I loved the pics of the falls at night, all lit up...I am sure it was even better in person!
